Fence jobs usually start with a specific need. You might want a privacy fence along a back lot line, a fence around a new pool, or a gate wide enough for a mower or trailer. Or you might have an old wood fence with leaning posts and gray, weathered boards. We install privacy, vinyl, wood, pool and ornamental fences, along with swing gates and sliding gates. If a wood fence is still solid, we stain it to protect the boards and bring the color back. Before we set a post, we go over the layout, the height and where the gates need to go. We also look at slopes and drainage on the property. Posts are set deep enough to stay put through Ohio's freeze and thaw cycles. Many cities and HOAs have rules on fence height, setbacks and pool enclosures, so it pays to check early, and we'll help you know what to ask. Estimates are free and same-day.

## Common questions

Should I get a swing gate or a sliding gate?

A swing gate needs clear, fairly level ground for the full arc it opens through. A sliding gate needs room along the fence line to roll back. Sliding gates often suit driveways where a swing would hit a slope or a parked car.

How often should a wood fence be stained?

It depends on sun and weather exposure, but most wood fences need fresh stain every few years. If water soaks into the boards instead of beading up, it's time.

Do I need a permit to put up a fence?

Many cities in the Dayton area require one, and pool fences usually have their own rules on height and gates. Check with your city and HOA before the job starts. We'll go over the layout with you so you know what to ask.
